Brick officials have announced that the Brick Senior Center and the township\u2019s Senior Shuttle service will be offering trips to two free music events at the PNC Bank Arts Center in Holmdel Township this September, featuring popular bands from the 1960s. The trips are available to Brick residents ages 60 and over.<\/p>\n

The first concert will take place on Tuesday, Sept. 9, featuring Herman\u2019s Hermits starring Peter Noone. Known as part of the British Invasion of the 1960s, Herman\u2019s Hermits are best known for their hit songs \u201cI\u2019m Into Something Good,\u201d \u201cMrs. Brown, You\u2019ve Got a Lovely Daughter,\u201d and \u201cI\u2019m Henry VIII, I Am.\u201d<\/p>\n

The second concert will be held on Monday, Sept. 29 and will feature \u201cAn Afternoon of Music & Memories\u201d with John Scupelliti & the Reactions, Vito Picone & the Elegants, Bob Miranda & the Happenings, The Coda Band, and host Rhett J.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur seniors are such an important part of our community and I\u2019m so glad we can provide opportunities like these concerts for them to enjoy great music, make memories and spend time together,\u201d said Mayor Lisa Crate, in an announcement.<\/p>\n

Both concerts begin at 1:30 p.m. and are held rain or shine. Attendees may bring their own lunch or purchase food at concession stands. Seating on the Senior Shuttle is limited and will be reserved on a first-come, first-served basis. Residents can begin registering for the Herman\u2019s Hermits trip this week and for the Afternoon of Music & Memories trip on Sept. 17 by calling the Senior Center at 732-920-8686.<\/p>\n

Additionally, Senior Services has a limited number of complimentary tickets available for residents who wish to drive themselves to the concerts. Tickets may be picked up at the Senior Center, 500 Aurora Place, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.<\/p>\n
