Brick Township officials this week voted in favor of soliciting bids for two road paving projects, while awarding a contract for a microsurfacing project. Microsurfacing is a technique that preserves roadways by applying an aggregate surface on top of existing asphalt.<\/p>\n

The council solicited bids for repaving in the Swan Point and Cherry Quay neighborhoods. The Swan Point project will see paving and drainage improvements on Gale Road, Pine Hammock Road, Cedar Point Avenue, Spring Avenue, Sheldon Avenue, and Douglas Road. The Cherry Quay project includes Seagoin Road, Boom Lane, Bark Road, Port Road, Club House Road and Cross Trees Road.<\/p>\n

The council normally awards bids for road paving projects about a month after the solicitation.<\/p>\n

The microsurfacing project will be carried out in the entire Laurelton Gardens neighborhood. Council members awarded a $137,491 contract to Asphalt Paving Systems, of Hammonton, through a pre-bid state contract. Residents will be notified before the work begins.<\/p>\n
