Ocean County officials have closed the Point Pleasant Borough branch of the county library system after discovering water damage following the recent storm.<\/p>\n

Water was found in \u201cseveral areas\u201d of the building on Beaver Dam Road, library officials said. The branch\u2019s book drop will remain open for returns, but otherwise the facility will be completely shut down for an unspecified amount of time.<\/p>\n

\u201cAfter assessing the damage to the facility it was determined the branch would need to be closed to complete repairs,\u201d an announcement said.<\/p>\n

Items on hold at the Point Pleasant Borough Branch will be transferred to the Point Pleasant Beach Branch, 710 McLean Ave., on Wednesday, Jan. 28. Library patrons can request their items be sent to another branch by calling 732-349-6200. Due dates for Chromebooks, hotspots, and Launchpads from the Point Pleasant Borough Branch will be adjusted to accommodate the temporary closure. Patrons are encouraged to visit nearby OCL branches for in-person services.<\/p>\n
