Brick Plaza has come a long way over the years, evolving from a typical strip mall to a lifestyle-centric shopping center with a mix of retail, restaurants and outdoor amenities in its \u201cBoardwalk\u201d section. In the coming months, the shopping center\u2019s owner, Federal Realty, said this week that a number of new businesses will be moving in.<\/p>\n

Two new store brands are slated to open in Brick Plaza soon \u2013 namely J. Crew Factory and GAP Factory, said Amanda Cheslock, spokesperson for Federal Realty, which owns the shopping center.<\/p>\n

J. Crew Factory is the main brand\u2019s budget-friendly sibling \u2014 known for its similar \u201cpreppy\u201d vibe and style, but striking a chord between the brand\u2019s newest offerings and \u201cclearance\u201d or \u201coverstock\u201d items. The company operates 328 J. Crew Factory stores across the United States. Similarly, GAP Factory is the discount arm of the popular clothing brand, which operates corporate-owned stores in 45 states. It offers an exclusive line of \u201ccasual-chic\u201d clothing, the company said, as well as shoes and accessories designed specifically for the \u201cGAP Factory\u201d chain rather than retired items or those left over from previous seasons.<\/p>\n

J. Crew Factory will be located next to the Chipotle location near the Route 70 entrance to the plaza, while GAP Factory will take up a space next door to the Barnes and Noble bookstore.<\/p>\n

Several restaurants are also on the way. Cuzins Seafood and Clam Bar<\/a>, which already operates a location in Marlboro, is moving into the space that had been occupied be Tre and Rosalita\u2019s \u2013 a liquor license transfer was recently approved for the new eatery \u2013 and Gregorys Coffee<\/a>, a New York-based coffee shop and retailer, will open its doors next to Cava (a Mediterranean casual restaurant). Gregorys was founded in 2006 and now operates 54 locations nationally.<\/p>\n

Raising Cain\u2019s is also due to open soon \u2013 it was approved with great fanfare to replace the Quaker Steak and Lube restaurant, which closed during the pandemic era \u2013 and Federal Realty recently announced the opening of Dae Gee Korean BBQ<\/a>. Dae Gee is a small chain that was founded in Colorado and operates several restaurants there, as well as two in Texas and one in Indian, Massachusetts and North Carolina. Brick Plaza is its first New Jersey location, and is already open.<\/p>\n

While some shopping centers have experienced declines in the era of Amazon and Temu, Brick Plaza remains a health place to do business, its owner said.<\/p>\n

\u201cJ Crew Factory and Gap Factory are both proven brands that will help to bolster the fashion options at Brick Plaza,\u201d said Jeffrey Fischer, VP of Leasing at Federal Realty. \u201cWe\u2019re also introducing exciting food and dining concepts that will strengthen the plaza\u2019s position as a family-friendly destination, such as Raising Cane\u2019s, Cuzin\u2019s Seafood, Dae Gee Korean BBQ.\u201d<\/p>\n

Updates on the new stores will be available on the Brick Plaza website<\/a>, Cheslock said.<\/p>\n
