The \u201cPick Up Brick\u201d environmental program will host a community cleanup at the Riverwalk Refuge on Saturday, April 25, from 10 a.m. to 12 noon.<\/p>\n

The event is open to individuals, families, businesses, nonprofits, schools, community groups and neighborhood associations. Organizers said participants will have the chance to make a visible difference and take pride in helping maintain the beauty of Brick Township. All supplies will be provided. Volunteers need only bring their enthusiasm and a willingness to help.<\/p>\n

The Riverwalk Refuge is located on Mantoloking Road, approximately one-third of a mile east of the intersection of Mantoloking Road and Church Road. It is named in honor of Walter Durrua, a lifelong conservationist and businessman who was best known for starting the iconic \u201cJersey Paddler\u201d store in Brick.<\/p>\n

The Pick Up Brick Program is a municipal initiative dedicated to preserving the beauty of Brick Township through community-driven cleanups. It is spearheaded by Mayor Lisa Crate and the Brick Environmental Commission, and relies on volunteers who donate their time to make a positive impact in the community.<\/p>\n
