Brick Township\u2019s Recreation Department leagues will have a new baseball field on which to play this summer, with the township council this week approving a contract with a Herbertsville church to allow the use of its diamond.<\/p>\n

The council unanimously approved a pact with St. Paul\u2019s United Methodist Church on Herbertsville Road to allow the township to use its baseball field on weekdays. The contract, which lasts for one year with the option to renew, provides the lease of the fields cost-free to the township.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere is no monetary exchange in the lease, instead the township\u2019s parks department will maintain the field for the sports season,\u201d said Councilman Vincent Minichino.<\/p>\n

The church is located at 714 Herbertsville, just north of Sally Ike Road.<\/p>\n
