Brick residents can celebrate two decades of being one with nature. The township has received the prestigious “Tree City USA” designation for the 20th year in a row, officials announced.<\/p>\n

The Arbor Day Foundation announced recently that Brick was named a Tree City USA community for 2025. The “Tree City USA” recognition honors municipalities that “demonstrate a strong commitment to urban forestry and environmental stewardship.” To qualify, communities must meet four standards established by the Arbor Day Foundation, including maintaining a tree board or department \u2014 in Brick Township\u2019s case, the Shade Tree Commission \u2014 adopting a community tree ordinance, investing at least $2 per capita in urban forestry efforts and holding an annual Arbor Day celebration.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis recognition reflects Brick Township\u2019s long-standing commitment to preserving and enhancing our community\u2019s natural beauty,\u201d said Mayor Lisa Crate. \u201cFor 20 consecutive years, we have made protecting our trees and green spaces a priority because they improve our quality of life, strengthen our environment and make Brick a more beautiful place to live for future generations.\u201d<\/p>\n
