A Brick Township father and son face a slew of drug distribution and weapons charges after detectives seized more than 20 pounds of marijuana, plus quantities of cocaine, heroin, methamphetamine and other drugs, multiple firearms and about $34,000 in cash from their family home, authorities said.<\/p>\n

Ryan Weil, 35, and his father, Kenneth Weil, 74, both of Brick, were arrested June 16 after Ocean County Prosecutor\u2019s Office Narcotics Strike Force detectives, working with U.S. Postal Inspection Service and other agencies, delivered an intercepted package containing about 15 grams of cocaine to the residence. The package, purchased via the dark web using cryptocurrency, was addressed to Ryan Weil, authorities said. Detectives observed him retrieve it before executing a court-authorized search warrant.<\/p>\n

Inside the home, investigators found the intercepted cocaine along with approximately 20 pounds of marijuana, quantities of heroin\/fentanyl, methamphetamine, Xanax, MDMA, oxycodone, LSD, drug paraphernalia, three shotguns, one rifle, two handguns and about $34,000 in cash, according to the Ocean County Prosecutor\u2019s Office.<\/p>\n

Both men were taken into custody without incident. Ryan Weil was charged with multiple counts of possession with intent to distribute various drugs \u2014 including cocaine, heroin\/fentanyl, marijuana, Xanax, oxycodone, MDMA and LSD \u2014 as well as conspiracy, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a firearm during a drug offense, five counts of certain persons not to possess a firearm and financial facilitation. He remains detained at the Ocean County Jail after a judge ordered him held pending trial on June 25.<\/p>\n

Kenneth Weil faces similar charges, including possession with intent to distribute the same substances, conspiracy, drug paraphernalia, possession of a firearm during a drug offense and financial facilitation. He was released from the Ocean County Jail due to New Jersey\u2019s bail reform policies.<\/p>\n

Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer credited a collaborative effort involving the Ocean County Prosecutor\u2019s Office Narcotics Strike Force and Asset Forfeiture Unit, U.S. Postal Inspection Service, Ocean County Sheriff\u2019s Office Drone Unit, Brick Township Police Department and Manchester Police Department in making the arrest.<\/p>\n
