Though the forecast is subject to change, as usual, meteorologists are predicting between 2-4 inches of snow for Ocean County as part of a weather system that will move through the area Sunday night into Monday.<\/p>\n

Though confidence is high that this storm will fully hit the Jersey Shore area, there is a strong possibility that the precipitation the storm carries will \u2013 at least temporarily \u2013 mix with, or change to, rain. It is likely that central and northern Ocean County will fall directly on the rain-snow line, complicating the forecast.<\/p>\n

The National Weather Service issued forecast maps Friday that depicted Brick Township straddling the line between 3-4 inches of snow and 2-3 inches of snow.<\/p>\n

Dan Skeldon, a meteorologist for The Press of Atlantic City, said on his Facebook page<\/a> that the rain-snow line will fall somewhere in the area of Philadelphia eastward to Ocean County.<\/p>\n

\u201cJust north of the rain\/snow line will see heavy snow, just south sleet\/rain<\/span>,\u201d said Skeldon. \u201cYet another difficult forecast call. As I said earlier, we\u2019re on the \u201cedge\u201d once again. But instead of being on the edge of the storm altogether, we\u2019re on the edge of the rain\/snow line. And instead of the question \u201cDo we get any precip to fall at all?\u201d, the question is \u2018What kind of precip will it be?'\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

The storm is expected to move in during the evening hours on Sunday and last through the afternoon on Monday.<\/p>\n
