The Shore area will receive between 1-2 inches of snow and less than one-hundredth of an inch of ice produced by freezing rain in a winter storm forecast to affect New Jersey from Sunday night into Monday, the National Weather Service said Saturday.<\/p>\n

A rain-snow line will form in the central portion of the state, with Ocean County lying squarely south of it, leading to mostly rain as the precipitation of choice in the storm, forecasters said. About 1-2 inches of snow will accumulate during the storm in northern Ocean County, with southern Ocean County receiving less than an inch of snow.<\/p>\n

Most of the snowfall in New Jersey will occur in North Jersey, above Interstate 78. A small portion of northern Monmouth County could receive 3-4 inches of snow.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe trend the past couple of days is for the low pressure to shift farther north which brings more mixed precipitation (rain\/snow\/sleet) into the area Sunday night and Monday morning,\u201d the National Weather Service said in a briefing package issued on the storm.<\/p>\n

The storm is expected to roll in Sunday afternoon and last through Monday. At the Shore, snow will mix with freezing rain and ultimately become all rain. Frigid temperatures will follow the storm, with lows Monday night dropping into the teens and Tuesday\u2019s highs not rising above the mid-20s.<\/p>\n
