(File Photo\/Flickr\/Sue Talbert Photography)<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Brick Township\u2019s spring leaf collections will begin April 6, township officials said this week.<\/p>\n<p>Leaves will be collected in accordance with the township\u2019s recycling days, with residents whose recyclables are collected on Tuesdays having the first collection.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have decided to change our leaf collection schedule this year,\u201d Mayor John Ducey explained. \u201cIn the past, Monday recycling routes were always the first to be collected. In the interest of fairness, we have decided to rotate the collections moving forward.<\/p>\n<p>This year, residents with Tuesdays will be collected first and residents with Monday recycling will be collected last.\u00a0 Next year, Wednesdays will go first, and so on, Ducey said.<\/p>\n<p>The change was made after numerous residents voiced their concerns about the collection schedule, according to the mayor.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI personally heard from many residents who were frustrated that their collection weeks were consistently last and seemed to always fall on holiday weeks,\u201d Ducey.<\/p>\n[box type=\u201dshadow\u201d ]<span style=\"color: #800000;\"><strong>2015 Spring Leaf Collection Schedule:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Residents with <strong>TUESDAY<\/strong> recycling collection should have their leaves at the curb by <strong>Monday, April 6<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Residents with <strong>WEDNESDAY<\/strong> recycling collection should have their leaves at the curb by <strong>Monday, April 13<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Residents with <strong>THURSDAY<\/strong> recycling collection should have their leaves at the curb by <strong>Monday, April 20<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Residents with <strong>FRIDAY<\/strong> recycling collection should have their leaves at the curb by <strong>Monday, April 27<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Residents with <strong>MONDAY<\/strong> recycling collection should have their leaves at the curb by <strong>Monday, May 4<\/strong>.[\/box]<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Residents are asked to have their bagged leaves at the curb by 6 a.m. on the first day of their designated collection week.<\/p>\n<p>Do not put branches, twigs or other debris in the bags, the township advises.
