(Photo Credit: FEMA)<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Brick Township is teaming up with Save Our Communities to co-host a round-table discussion\u00a0regarding the recent review of flood insurance payouts for victims of Superstorm Sandy.<\/p>\n<p>According to officials, the announcement by FEMA that it will <a href=\"https:\/\/www.shorebeat.com\/brick\/2015\/03\/every-sandy-flood-insurance-claim-will-be-reopened-fema-pledges\/\">reopen all 144,000 flood insurance claims<\/a> will likely be the final opportunity for homeowners \u2013 both primary and secondary \u2013 to contest flood insurance settlements.<\/p>\n<p>The presentation and subsequent discussions will be held on\u00a0Wednesday, May 27 at 7 p.m. at the Brick Township municipal complex on Chambers Bridge Road. The session is expected to last approximately 45 minutes.<\/p>\n<p>The presentation is free to attend and all are welcome, officials said.\u00a0 Any unanswered general or specific questions will be transmitted to FEMA for timely response.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe flood insurance process is quite complicated and can be overwhelming for citizens trying to navigate it.\u00a0 The more information we can provide to help the better,\u201d said Mayor John Ducey, in a statement. \u201cWe are pleased to be working with the dedicated members of Save Our Brick Communities to host this presentation and continuing to help citizens impacted by Sandy and the flood insurance program.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The presentation will focus on the opportunity to obtain Sandy-related flood insurance payouts.<\/p>\n<p>Save Our Communities is a grass-roots group started by Brick Township residents that was formed in the wake of Sandy.\u00a0 The group advocates on behalf of victims of Sandy and citizens who are impacted by new Federal Flood Insurance rates, guidelines and State programs.\u00a0 It has been selected as one of the not-for-profit Sandy Advocacy groups to assist in servicing the needs of Sandy\u00a0Victims\u00a0on this specific subject matter.
