A number of Brick Township school district students and staff members were recently recognized by members of the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office for an anti-drunk-driving video series they produced which will be shown to students county-wide this upcoming school year.<\/p>\n

The video produced by Brick high school students Michael Guastaferro, Zachary James and Taylor Mislan<\/span><\/span><\/span>, along with filmmaker Laura Tufano<\/span><\/span><\/span> and Student Assistance Counselors Lori Roland and Nina Rettino<\/span><\/span><\/span>, is the second in a series of videos known as “Right Turn.”<\/p>\n

Each video features students from Ocean County schools<\/span><\/span><\/span>, said Al Della Fave, spokesman for the prosecutor’s office. The first featured Point Pleasant Borough students and focused on drug use, while the Brick team focused on drunk driving.<\/p>\n

“Through a series of short vignettes student viewers are shown the outcome and the ultimate impact that their choice can have on their life,” said Della Fave. “They are meant to interactively engage and educate teens and young adults that they have a choice when it comes to their involvement with irresponsible and dangerous behavior.<\/span><\/span><\/span>”

The cost of producing the video series is paid for with drug forfeiture monies, seized from those arrested seeking to profit from the illegal sale of narcotics, Della Fave added.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Titled “Night at the Prom,” the Brick-produced video will be shown at middle schools and high schools throughout the county this year.<\/p>\n
