What\u2019s the best way to fix a flat tire? Steal a new one, of course.<\/p>\n

That\u2019s what Brick police say two men did after their tire went flat Monday near Brick Boulevard on Monday. According to Sgt. Neal Pedersen, officers took a report of a vehicle burglary at 3:15 a.m. in the Lion\u2019s Head North community in which the trunk of a Hyundai Sonata was broken into and the spare tire taken.<\/p>\n

A short time later, Pedersen said, Officer Mark Catalina came upon three men changing a tire in the parking lot of the Wawa store on Brick Boulevard. He investigated, and discovered that they men had developed a flat tire near the convenience store, then went on the hunt to steal a tire that would replace the one that went flat.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was at this point that two of the subjects walked into the Lions Head North community where they began searching for a vehicle similar to theirs so they could obtain a tire,\u201d Pedersen said. \u201cWhen they located a similar vehicle to theirs they entered the trunk of the vehicle and removed the spare tire.\u201d<\/p>\n

Two of the men \u2013 Jasheir Powell and Quadirah Booker \u2013 both of Lakewood, were charged with burglary and theft. Powell also had an outstanding warrant for his arrest from Howell for $100 and Booker had an outstanding warrant for $500 from Brick, Pedersen said.<\/p>\n

A third suspect, Toraya Evans, of Lakewood \u2013 who apparently waited with the vehicle at Wawa while the other two went to steal the tire \u2013 was arrested for an outstanding warrant from Wall Township for $500.<\/p>\n
