By 5 p.m. Tuesday, the storm was packing 40 m.p.h. \u2013 a minimal tropical storm \u2013 and was located far in the eastern Atlantic ocean, about halfway between the African continent and South America.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA motion toward the west is expected tonight, followed by a turn toward the west-northwest on Wednesday,\u201d the National Hurricane said in a public advisory.<\/p>\n<p>Danny is currently forecast to reach hurricane strength \u2013 meaning 74 m.p.h. winds or more \u2013 in 48 hours.
