Go Set a Watchman<\/p><\/div>\n

The Ocean County Library\u2019s main branch in Toms River will hold a panel discussion exploring \u201cGo Set a Watchman,\u201d by Harper Lee<\/p>\n

Before the release of Harper Lee\u2019s second novel, \u201cGo Set a Watchman,\u201d in July many people weighed in, both pro and con, on the book\u2019s merits, an announcement on the discussion sent out by the library said. But now, the controversy has quieted down. The reviewers have moved on to other books and other opinions.<\/p>\n

\u201cNow it is time to hold thoughtful conversations about \u2018Watchman\u2019 and its relevance to modern literature,\u201d the announcement said.<\/p>\n

Ocean County Library will present local high school English teachers and college professors to discuss it and Lee\u2019s first novel, \u201cTo Kill a Mockingbird.\u201d<\/p>\n

Moderated by an Ocean County Library librarian, the panelists will grapple with themes presented in Lee\u2019s new novel, discuss how the two relate, and decide if \u201cGo Set a Watchman\u201d can stand on its own in the canon of American literature.<\/p>\n
