Bergquist will retire Dec. 1 after 39 years in law enforcement, 35 of which he served in Brick.<\/p>\n<p>Ducey said recently that some interviews had already been conducted and a total of 10 candidates would be interviewed for the position.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019ve already started\u201d the process, Ducey said.<\/p>\n<p>Under Brick\u2019s form of government, the mayor is empowered to select a new police chief with the advice and consent of the township council.
