Get ready for a night celebrating the everyday heroes of Brick Township.<\/p>\n

For the second year in a row, Brick will honor its residents, business owners and volunteers who have stepped up to the plate to help their community and neighbors. This Thursday, the Hero Awards will recognize the good deeds of residents and how they have positively impacted everyone.<\/p>\n

The featured nominee of this year\u2019s event is Brick Police Chief Nils R. Bergquist, who is retiring Dec. 1.\u00a0 The show also includes local youth performances, as well as the launch and fashion show for Brick United, a clothing line to promote positivity between both sides of town as developed by Brick Teens.<\/p>\n

The host of this year\u2019s awards presentation is Brick Memorial High School alumnus RJ Hernandez, an honoree from last year who is currently in his first year of college at Princeton University.<\/p>\n

The Hero Awards are the product of the Mayor\u2019s Teen Advisory Committee (otherwise known as the Society of Influencers and Game Changers) and school officials.<\/p>\n

A video message from Mayor John Ducey and a special guest appearance by Interim Superintendent Richard Caldes will be featured with other local figures to present awards to local town heroes. Heroes being honored include Brick residents and business owners, students going above and beyond, and teachers or administrators who are making a difference, organizers said.<\/p>\n

Children and adults of all ages are encouraged to attend. The cost is $3 for children 17 and under, $5 for adults, and $4 for seniors. Tickets are available online<\/a> or at the door.<\/p>\n
