(Credit: NWS)<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Dreams of a white Christmas may not come true this December, according to initial forecasts for the month ahead.<\/p>\n<p>After what meteorologists believe to have been one of the top 10 warmest Novembers on record, the temperature pattern in December will likely shape up similarly, the National Weather Service said Monday.<\/p>\n<p>Forecasters are expecting it to be \u201cexceptionally mild\u201d for the first half of December, according to the NWS\u2019s office in Mount Holly, with the possibility of a pattern change during mid-month, leading to some moderation in temperatures.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOverall, probabilities for above no<span class=\"text_exposed_show\">rmal temperatures exceed 60 percent,\u201d the office said.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p>In addition to the general weather pattern, NWS forecasters cited the ongoing El Ni\u00f1o, among the strongest on record, for contributing to their outlook for above average temperatures.<\/p>\n<p>Even with the potential for a mid-month variability, the chance of reversing the overall warm temperature anomalies is \u201cexceedingly small,\u201d the agency said.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, the forecast calls for \u201cslightly wetter\u201d than normal in the northeast.<\/p>\n<div class=\"fcbkbttn_buttons_block\" id=\"fcbkbttn_left\"><div class=\"fb-share-button fcbkbttn_large_button \" data-href=\"https:\/\/shorebeat.com\/brick\/2015\/12\/forecasters-exceptionally-mild-december-ahead-for-shore-area\/\" data-type=\"button_count\" data-size=\"large\"><\/div><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Dreams of a white Christmas may not come true this December, according to initial forecasts for the month ahead.
