Kathy Schachel, a Brick resident, has been one of the most notable women in the sport, winning 55 races including the European championship. Schachel was also featured on the cover of BMX Plus Magazine in 1979.<\/p>\n<p>In October, Schachel was inducted into the National BMX Hall of Fame.
