Meteorologists are preparing for what is being described as a potentially \u201chigh impact\u201d nor\u2019easter that may bring snow, coastal flooding and high winds to the Shore area beginning Friday.<\/p>\n

In a briefing package issued by the National Weather Service office in Mount Holly late Monday, forecasters said snow is likely across all of the region late Friday through Saturday night. Areas from Philadelphia south and east \u2013 including Ocean County \u2013 have the potential to change to rain for a time on Saturday which may lower accumulations.<\/p>\n

There have been no snowfall total predictions issued.<\/p>\n

Gusty winds are possible through the same period which could lead to additional concerns with blowing snow, the briefing package said. The strongest gusts will be along the coastline. Additionally, the nor\u2019easter will coincide with a fall moon, which will send tides higher than normal, leading to coastal flooding. Flooding will be \u201cmoderate to major,\u201d the package said.<\/p>\n
