What was an approximately six foot drop last week in the township’s Normandy Beach section has morphed into a massive drop that is nearly 20 feet tall in some areas.<\/p>\n

While more of the wall was left exposed in the storm, it was successful in preventing the powerful ocean waves from breaching the island. More information on the state’s plan for how to proceed following the storm is expected to become available Monday when state officials, including Lt. Gov. Kim Guadagno, survey damage up and down the coast. A visit to Ortley Beach is expected to occur at 12 noon.<\/p>\n
