Brick Township High School\u2019s Drama Club won the prestigious Performance Award at the Salute to Ocean County, a celebration of arts and heritage held Thursday\u00a0night.\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The cast of \u201cHow to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying\u201d performed the musical number \u201cCoffee Break.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>The award was $5,000 to the drama club\u00a0from the Jay and Linda Grunin Foundation.<\/span><\/p>\n

The event was sponsored in part by Ocean County Board of Chosen Freeholders, the Ocean County Cultural & Heritage Commission and Ocean County College.<\/span><\/p>\n

As Shorebeat reported earlier this week, tech week is underway for the production, which highlights local high school students and professional musicians.\u00a0<\/span>The tune-filled comic gem took Broadway by storm, winning Tony awards for Best Musical and also a Pulitzer Prize.<\/span><\/p>\n

The show will be held on Friday, April 15 at 7 p.m. and Saturday, April 16 at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. at the Brick Township High School Auditorium, 346 Chambers Bridge Road.<\/span><\/p>\n

The musical is a satire of big business and finding your way up the corporate ladder.\u00a0<\/span>The production features Brick residents Ryan Gittler and Hailey Bennett in the lead spots, with a supporting cast of Alyssa Hajeski, Michael Troncone, George Mageri, Annie Castoro, Evan Urspruch, Michael Luckhowec and Colleen Mari.\u00a0<\/span>There is a large male and female ensemble to accompany the main cast.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

General admission tickets are $8 for students and $10 for adults.\u00a0<\/span>Tickets can be purchased at the door or in advance from the play director, Ms. Cheryl Best at CBest@brickschools.org<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n
