Brick police have made six\u00a0arrests in the case of a pizza deliverman who was attacked by a group of people after he made a delivery to a Herbertsville condominium complex.<\/p>\n
The incident took place April 2 on Creek Road, off Sawmill Road. After delivering a pizza, a Domino’s driver\u00a0was “immediately surrounded by several individuals” who demanded he hand over the money he had on him, police said. After the driver refused, the group\u00a0spat on him, punched him in the face, and stabbed him in the lower left abdomen with a sharp object.<\/p>\n
After they arrived at 19 Creek Road, officers spoke to the delivery driver who told them\u00a0that upon completion of his delivery, he returned to his vehicle and was immediately surrounded and then attacked.<\/span><\/p>\n Detective Timothy McCarthy, as part of a weeks-long investigation, secured numerous leads, ultimately leading to the arrests of six\u00a0individuals \u2013 four of whom are from Brick and two from Lakewood. Five out of the six suspects are juveniles, Brick Police Capt.\u00a0Vincent Pacitti said.<\/span><\/p>\n The adult, identified as Kareem L. Johnson, 18, of Sawmill Road, Brick, was charged with robbery.\u00a0<\/span>Bail was set by Municipal Court\u00a0Judge Robert Lepore at $25,000\u00a0cash.\u00a0<\/span>Johnson was released after posting bail.\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n Four of the juveniles \u2013 three from Brick, one from Lakewood \u2013 were charged with robbery.\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n The remaining juvenile, a Lakewood resident, was charged with robbery, aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a weapon, and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n All five juveniles were lodged in the Ocean County Juvenile Detention Center.\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n The investigation was conducted by Detectives Timothy McCarthy and Brian Ulman, with the assistance of Officer Mark Storch.<\/span><\/p>\n
