Brick Township officials honored two of the township\u2019s fire investigators and all of the members of the Brick Police EMS squad at a township council meeting Tuesday night.<\/p>\n

Kevin Batzel and Rich Orlando, chief and assistant\u00a0chief of the Brick Bureau of Fire Prevention, were both recognized for prestigious awards they received from the state. Batzel was named Fire Protection Inspector of the Year for 2016 and Orlando was named Fire Prevention Inspector of the Year for 2015.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe is recognized around the state for his experience, knowledge and expertise in the New Jersey fire code,\u201d said Mayor John Ducey, of Batzel, who has worked for Brick\u2019s fire bureau since 1985.<\/p>\n

Both Batzel and Orlando had ceremonial proclamations declaring days in their honor in the township.<\/p>\n

Ducey also recognized Brick Police EMS members to mark National Emergency Medical Services Week.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe EMS teams are ready to provide lifesaving care to those in need, 24 hours a day, seven days a week,\u201d said Ducey.<\/p>\n

The paid EMS squad, a division of the police department, is celebrating its tenth anniversary this year, Ducey said.<\/p>\n
