One of Brick\u2019s four\u00a0Wawa stores will close for a month this summer while it is being remodeled as part of an aggressive, chain-wide plan to modernize its locations.<\/p>\n

The store at 595 Brick Boulevard \u2013 near the intersection with Cedar Bridge Avenue \u2013 will shut down Aug. 8 and reopen Sept. 8. The Brick location is the latest area Wawa store to be remodeled as part of a plan to remodel about 75\u00a0stores this\u00a0year, the company said in an announcement. Recently, a similar remodeling plan was carried out at the Ramtown Wawa store in Howell.<\/p>\n

Changes will include the addition of hand-spun milkshakes, a digital Coca-Cola Freestyle machine, new store graphics and computers, along with a more open floor plan. The store will resemble the company\u2019s newest stores, similar to the new locations that have opened in Florida.<\/p>\n

The remodeling will cost up to $1 million, the company said. New Jersey has 245 Wawa stores, the most of any state, according to an article in Sunday\u2019s Philadelphia Inquirer<\/a>. The remodels consist of wood-grain countertops, a better flow of foot traffic through the store, deep wood tones for the coffee section and a green tint for much of the food displays, the article said. All Wawa stores will be outfitted with free wifi this year as well.<\/p>\n
