(Photo: Daniel Nee)<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Businesses within the township\u2019s light industrial zone will be able to keep storage trailers and containers on their properties under a new ordinance introduced by the township council recently.<\/p>\n<p>The ordinance, which still requires a public hearing and second vote before adoption, allows businesses within the zone \u2013 which includes the township\u2019s industrial park off Route 70 \u2013 to house either two 20-foot storage facilities or one 40-foot storage facility on their properties. The trailers and containers would have to be licensed and registered with the township and all would be subject to inspection by township officials.<\/p>\n<p>Currently, storage trailers and containers are not allowed on any business site, Mayor John Ducey said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe want to be business friendly, so we\u2019ve decided to take a look at allowing storage units,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>The maximum number of containers is based on lot square footage, Ducey added, and all facilities must be used to store items that are related to the operation of the business.<\/p>\n<p>The ordinance is expected to be on the agenda for a second vote and public hearing at the June 21 council meeting, which begins at 7 p.m. at the township municipal complex.<\/p>\n<div class=\"fcbkbttn_buttons_block\" id=\"fcbkbttn_left\"><div class=\"fb-share-button fcbkbttn_large_button \" data-href=\"https:\/\/shorebeat.com\/brick\/2016\/06\/some-brick-businesses-will-be-able-to-have-storage-containers-on-their-properties\/\" data-type=\"button_count\" data-size=\"large\"><\/div><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Businesses within the township\u2019s light industrial zone will be able to keep storage trailers and containers on their properties under a new ordinance introduced by the township council recently.
