Pastrana of the Megan\u2019s Law Unit of the Special Investigations Bureau of the Ocean County Prosecutor\u2019s Office opened an investigation into 30-year-old Romeo A. Worthy for the third degree crime of failure to register as a sex offender.<\/p>\n<p>Worthy, whose residence was thought to be in Toms River, failed to register as required by law, said Al Della Fave, spokesman for the prosecutor\u2019s office.<\/p>\n<p>Pastrana continued the investigation into the following week and located Worthy at Winteringham Village in Toms River June 20. He was arrested without incident with the assistance of Toms River Police Patrolman Daniel Burke, on the strength of the warrant. Worthy was processed and transferred to the Ocean County Jail\u00a0and is now facing a grand jury indictment.<\/p>\n<p>This is Worthy\u2019s second arrest for failing to register. In early February 2016, detected found that Worthy had absconded from his registered address in Toms River. He was found by police in Toms River Feb. 9.<\/p>\n<p>According to the New Jersey State Police database, Worthy was convicted of sexual assault in 2001. He is considered a \u201ctier two,\u201d or moderate risk, offender.
