Spend a night \u201cunder the sea,\u201d and support a local children\u2019s theater group while doing so!<\/p>\n

The Brick Community Children\u2019s Theater will present \u201cThe Little Mermaid\u201d on Friday, Saturday\u00a0and Sunday.<\/p>\n

Based on one of Hans Christian Andersen\u2019s most beloved stories and the classic animated film,\u00a0Disney\u2019s The Little Mermaid <\/em>is an inspiring and fun-filled story for all ages. In a magical kingdom beneath the sea, the beautiful young mermaid Ariel, King Triton\u2019s youngest daughter,\u00a0longs to leave her ocean home to live in the world above. Ariel wishes to pursue the human Prince Eric and bargains with the evil sea witch, Ursula, to trade her tail for legs. But the bargain is not what it seems and Ariel needs the help of her colorful friends Flounder the fish, Sebastian the crab and Scuttle the seagull to restore order under the sea.<\/p>\n

See the story of The Little Mermaid<\/em> unfold, under the direction of Heather Campagno, with a cast of interesting characters artfully depicted by talented BCCT Actors. The cast features Sydney Burton as Ariel, Tommy Gedrich as Prince Eric, Marissa Paolella as Ursula, Corey Barthelemy as Sebastian, Ella Zarrilli as Flounder, AnnieRose DiMurro as Scuttle, Michael Luckhowec as King Triton, Julianna Ciulla as Flotsam, Rebecca Cairns as Jetsam, and Jared Pesciotta as Grimsby.<\/p>\n

The Little Mermaid<\/em> features several classic songs including \u201cUnder The Sea,\u201d \u201cKiss The Girl\u201d and \u201cPart of Your World,\u201d as well as new songs written by Oscar-winning Disney composer Alan Menken. BCCT\u2019s rendition promises \u201cunbelievable music, mesmerizing scenery, dazzling costumes and high-flying action,\u201d the group told Shorebeat!<\/p>\n

The production will play\u00a0at the Historic Strand Center for the Arts, 400 Clifton Avenue, Lakewood. The show runs July 29, 30, and 31 with performances at 7:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and two matinee shows at 2:00 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.<\/p>\n

Ticket\u00a0prices are $18 for adults; $16 for students and seniors; and $14 for children 12 and under plus a $1.50 service fee per ticket.\u00a0Per the Strand\u2019s ticket policy, all attendees need a ticket regardless of age. No strollers or carriages will be allowed inside the theater. The show is not recommended for children under the age of three as the run time is just under three hours\u00a0with intermission.<\/p>\n
