(Photo: Daniel Nee)<\/p><\/div>\n<p>The Brick Township Municipal Utilities Authority on Wednesday asked Brick residents to curtail the use of water due to extremely dry weather conditions.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBrick Utilities relies on the Metedeconk River as its primary water source,\u201d a statement from the utility agency said. \u201cDue to unusually dry weather this spring into summer we are seeing extremely low river flows. The Brick Utilities commissioners and staff are urging residents to participate in a voluntary water conservation effort.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Conserving water will help \u201cbalance our demand with the low river flows for the remainder of the summer and fall season,\u201d the statement said. \u201cWe hope that our residents will help by participating in this voluntary program, which uses a good old-fashioned common sense approach to household water use.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The agency provided residents with some tips to conserve:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Refrain from lawn watering, washing cars, and power washing.<\/li>\n<li>Run your dishwasher and washing machine with full loads.<\/li>\n<li>Check your outside hose connections, faucets, and toilets to make sure water is not\u00a0leaking.<\/li>\n<li>Turn down your faucets and showers when in use. You can get the same result from using water at less than full flow.
