(Photo: Daniel Nee)<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Ever notice those boats stacked up in the yard behind the Brick municipal building?<\/p>\n<p>They\u2019ve been subject to a lot of rumors over the years \u2013 everything from a winter storage perk for town officials to boats seized by the police. In both cases, the rumors were incorrect.<\/p>\n<p>Though there were some boats abandoned after Superstorm Sandy in the yard for a while, the bulk of the boats have been there for more than eight years, left over from when the township purchased the Traders Cove property and later brought a number of unclaimed boats to town hall.<\/p>\n<p>Now, it\u2019s time for them to go.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur dockmaster tried unsuccessfully to contact the owners, to no avail,\u201d said Business Administrator Joanne Bergin.<\/p>\n<p>After all these years, two boats remain \u2013 a 1988 Wellcraft 25-foot cabin cruiser and a 1994 Regal 30-foot cabin cruiser, said Council President Paul Mummolo.<\/p>\n<p>The township has gone through the legal process to have the boats declared as surplus property able to be sold, said Bergin.
