Police)<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Brick police said Friday that John Carter, a 34-year-old Brick man, turned himself in to the Ocean County Sheriff\u2019s Department after being charged in the Nov. 7 dragging of a Brick police officer behind a car following a traffic stop.<\/p>\n<p>Carter has been charged with\u00a0resisting arrest, aggravated assault, obstruction of justice, hindering apprehension, reckless driving, careless driving, disregard of a stop sign and maintenance of lamps.<\/p>\n<p>Bail was set on these charges was set at\u00a0$75,000 cash\u00a0by Brick Township Municipal Court Judge Joseph Grisanti.<\/p>\n<p>Sgt. Erik Olsen performed the traffic stop Nov. 7\u00a0on\u00a0Harris Avenue, just off Burnt Tavern Road, at about 10 p.m., said Sgt. Neal Pedersen. Olsen\u00a0identified the driver as Carter, who police\u00a0say had two active warrants out of Brick municipal court.<\/p>\n<p>After identifying the warrants, Ptl. Ryan Talty arrived on scene, and the two officers told Carter to exit the vehicle, a beige BMW 740i, Pedersen said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCarter refused to exit the vehicle and locked his driver side door,\u201d said Pedersen. \u201cSgt. Olsen reached into the open window in an attempt to pull the inside door handle to open the door, at which point Carter put the vehicle in drive and accelerated causing Sgt.
