(Photo: Daniel Nee)<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Mayor John Ducey is seeking candidates to fill numerous slots of boards and committees at town hall, his staff said this week.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThese boards not only play an important role in shaping our community, they offer citizens the opportunity to give back and help move Brick Township forward,\u201d said Ducey, in a statement. \u201cI encourage any person interested in serving our community to send their resume to my office this week. Every person will be considered and we will make every effort to make sure everyone who would like to serve has the opportunity to do so.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Any citizen interested on serving as a member on one of the township\u2019s various boards or committees should send an email with a resume and cover letter to Ducey at mayor@twp.brick.nj.us\u00a0before or on Friday, Dec.\u00a018 by 5 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>There are upcoming appointments available for the following boards\/committees:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Architectural Review Committee<\/strong>\u2013 reviews any construction, addition or alteration to nonresidential buildings that affect exterior features visible from a public place or street.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Environmental Commission<\/strong>\u2013 is responsible for the protection, development and use of natural resources, including water resources located within the township. \u00a0<\/li>\n<li><strong>Brick Township Housing Authority<\/strong>\u2013\u00a0The Brick Housing Authority administers both a public housing and Section 8 housing voucher program.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li><strong>Historic Preservation Commission<\/strong>\u2013 works to encourage the use, restoration and preservation of historic structures in Brick Township.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Planning Board<\/strong>\u2013\u00a0responsible for preparing, amending and adopting the municipal master plan\u00a0and also reviews applications for subdivisions and reviews site plans.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Sustainable Brick<\/strong>\u2013 works with the township staff to create and support policies, events and activities that support and encourage sustainability.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Board of Adjustment<\/strong>\u2013\u00a0primary function is to review and decide on applications for a variance.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Ethics Committee<\/strong>\u2013 receives and reviews ethical\u00a0questions or complaints alleging that the conduct of any local government officer or employee serving the municipality is in conflict with the Code of Conduct, or applicable\u00a0ethical standard.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Tourism Development Commission<\/strong>\u2013 works to publicize and promote the Township in order to attract tourism<\/li>\n<li><strong>Property Maintenance Board<\/strong>\u2013\u00a0works to determine the course of action owners of property\u2019s deemed in violation of the Property Maintenance Coe must take in regards to the rehabilitation of their properties.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Shade Tree Commission<\/strong>\u2013\u00a0aids in protecting and establishing trees throughout the township. \u00a0They are the advisory agency for all community trees on municipal streets, rights-of-way, parks and other properties.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>While efforts will be made to place citizens on requested boards, it will not be possible in all instances due to availability, officials said.<\/p>\n<div class=\"fcbkbttn_buttons_block\" id=\"fcbkbttn_left\"><div
