It’s a win-win. We caught last night’s amazing sunset from Sunset Beach in Seaside Heights, including a time-lapse at the end of the video posted above, and it seemed to be a harbinger of good weather to come the rest of the weekend, according to the National Weather Service.
The forecast, and a few photos, appear below:
Saturday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 82. Northwest wind around 10 mph.
Sunday: Sunny, with a high near 80. North wind 5 to 10 mph becoming southeast in the afternoon.
Monday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 81.
In the surf, according to the NWS marine forecast: “[Saturday] will feature a light easterly swell with breaking waves around 2 to 3 feet. Winds will be out of the northwest around 5-10 mph. As a result, there is a LOW risk for rip currents at the Jersey Shore and Delaware Beaches.
For Sunday: “While we do have a long period southeasterly swell in the forecast (around 11 seconds), we will carry the LOW risk for rip currents along the coast as winds will be light out of the north in the morning and east/southeast in the afternoon with breaking waves only around 1 to 3 feet.”
