Lagoon life at the Jersey Shore is a culture all of its own – and when there are pools overlooking the bay, paradise can be found right in one’s backyard. (Note: Ad blockers may interfere with the video, embedded above.)
This week, a golden retriever from Chadwick Island (in Toms River Township’s North Beaches) wanted to get in on the action, but there was one problem: his neighbor’s house had a pool, but a fence separated the two properties. No problem for the agile pooch, of course, as he plotted out a smooth-as-silk plan to sneak over the fence to do a few laps. The neighbors won’t mind, right? Look at that face!
The video of the golden, named Zeppole and owned by Erin Farley, has been viewed more than 37 million times since it was posted to TikTok earlier this week. It’s also been featured on The Five on Fox News Channel, British news programs and viral video sites across the internet. Farley’s account, which is centered around Zeppole’s adventures, has attracted more than 5 million followers of its own, so this might not be the last time we hear from the island’s new most famous four-legged friend.
