An open space created by the removal of the “Surf Shack” at Casino Pier has had many boardwalk-goers wondering what might replace it going forward. On Tuesday, the amusement company announced the answer.
Casino Pier will premier a new “Fun House” attraction on the pier next season. According to a statement from the company, the attraction will be known as the Fun Factory, which will consist of a three-level structure that will be completed by the spring of 2025.
The Fun Factory “offers a fantastic journey immersed in fun packed entertainment for all ages,” Casino Pier’s announcement said. It will be accompanied by interactive tricks and optical illusions that are designed to surprise visitors at every curve, following paths of “overwhelming fun.”
Fun Factory will be designed by Gosetto, a company based in Moriago della Battaglia, Treviso, Italy. The company designs several innovative attractions, both mobile and permanently-placed. In the case of Casino Pier, the “Fun House” model designed by the company is highly customizable to adapt to specific locations, intended to present special effects that run along a walking path.
The company offers a standard path, or as described by Gosetto, a multi-level structure like that intended for the pier which ends in a toboggan ride.
“The Fun House is a ride where the whole family or a group of friends take part together, brimming with various effects, designed surprise to, challenge, and amuse, moving around, following a full and well-articulated path,” the company said, subject to translation from Italian.
The Fun House is also optimized to keep guests moving constantly through the path, cutting down on wait times. The three-level iteration of the ride acommodates between 16 and 25 “tricks” inside, and stands 10 meters (approximately 32 feet) tall.
