Simon’s Soup Kitchen, a nonprofit organization based at Our Lady of Perpetual Help church in Seaside Heights, will offer free Thanksgiving meals later this week for those in need.
The organization will distribute the free Thanksgiving Day dinners on Thursday, Nov. 28, 2024 2-3 p.m. at the Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish Center, 168 Grant Avenue, Seaside Heights. Anyone in need of a hot meal is welcome to attend, organizers said in an announcement sent to Shorebeat.
The meals are full Thanksgiving dinners with turkey and usual trimmings. They will be offered for takeout only.
Simon’s Soup Kitchen has long been based at the Catholic parish in Seaside Heights, providing food to those in need with “no questions asked.” Dinners are normally served on Tuesday and Friday evenings beginning at 5 p.m. at the parish center. Through a new partnership with DoorDash, Simon’s Soup Kitchen is also able to deliver dinners to Ocean County residents ages 60 and older who live within the zip codes of 08751, 08752, 08735.
