The Lavallette Police Department on Monday announced the tragic news that Robert Lamb, the borough councilman and retired police sergeant, has died.
“Bob dedicated his entire adult life to the people of Lavallette, serving with distinction as a police officer for 26 years, before serving on the borough council for over 20 years,” the department said. “Bob was also a life-long member of the Lavallette Volunteer Fire Company #1, and founding member of the Lavallette Policemen’s Benevolent Association Local #372.”
Lamb became an attorney after retiring from law enforcement, maintaining an office in Toms River. He was also the father of current Lavallette Police Sgt. Justin Lamb, who himself serves as council president in Toms River.
“Bob Lamb was a strong advocate and fierce defender of his beloved Lavallette,” the department’s statement said. “He will be greatly missed.”
Details on services have not been announced. Lamb was 66-year-old.
