Most local residents call it the \u201cSound of Freedom.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Servicemembers at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst will be spending their holiday season with an intensive training schedule, ranging from small arms, to rocket fire, to cratering charges. The first portion of the marathon training period came earlier this week, when a U.S. Air Force medical group conducted an operation to simulate a response to a CBRE attack \u2013 an acronym that stands for \u201cchemical, biological, radiological, nuclear and explosive.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><div class=\"ose-facebook ose-uid-c4df43e645435dcd8877db104a4ce24e ose-embedpress-responsive\" style=\"width:600px; height:550px; max-height:550px; max-width:100%; display:inline-block;\" data-embed-type=\"Facebook\"><div id=\"fb-root\"><\/div><script async=\"1\" defer=\"1\" crossorigin=\"anonymous\" src=\"https:\/\/connect.facebook.net\/en_US\/sdk.js#xfbml=1&version=v25.0\"><\/script><div class=\"fb-video\" data-href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/87AirBaseWing\/videos\/224032803203624\" data-width=\"600\"><blockquote cite=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/87AirBaseWing\/videos\/224032803203624\/\" class=\"fb-xfbml-parse-ignore\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/87AirBaseWing\/videos\/224032803203624\/\">Exercise READY EAGLE<\/a><p>The AFMS - 87th Medical Group conducted a live exercise called READY EAGLE which simulated their responsiveness towards a CBRNE event.<\/p>Posted by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/87AirBaseWing\">87th Air Base Wing<\/a> on Sunday, November 28, 2021<\/blockquote><\/div><\/div><\/p>\n<p>The base released a schedule of its expected training exercises this week. It appears in graphical form below. Today, the base will host rotary wing artillery gunnery training, with .50 caliber rifles, rocket fire and rotary cannons. That same training, which produces \u201cmoderate\u201d noise, will be held Dec. 5-11 and Dec. 13-17.<\/p>\n<p>On Friday, the training will move to heavier weapons, including the live-firing of mortars, howitzer batteries and cratering charges. The heavy training will run Friday and Saturday this week.<\/p>\n<p>Small arms training will be held Dec. 12, then from Dec. 18-31.
