The family that has owned a Lavallette motel for decades is moving on, but have sold the business to a new owner \u2013 right in town \u2013 who will keep it alive.<\/p>\n

The Lamplight Motel, at 204 Grand Central Avenue, was run by Cerami family for more than 50 years. Nick Cerami, who sent out the announcement, said his mother continued working there into her 90th year, even after his father had passed away.<\/p>\n

\u201cUpon her passing we learned of her specific intentions \u2014 for her children to divest her assets, including the Lamplight, and for our family to move in a new direction,\u201d he said, calling the announcement \u201cbittersweet.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Lamplight will remain under local ownership. The Crivelli family of Lavallette, known for their construction business, are the new owners of the Lamplight. They intend to keep operating the business as a motel.<\/p>\n
