Shadow of the City<\/p><\/div>\n

A music festival that was held last year in Asbury Park will move to Seaside Heights in 2016.<\/p>\n

British alternative band The 1975 will headline the Shadow Of The City music festival on the beach on June 18. The announcement came late Monday morning. The 1975\u2019s recent album is currently seated at the number one spot in several British and American chart categories.<\/p>\n

Other bands that have been booked to perform at the music festival will be announced next Monday, March 14, said Borough Administrator Christopher Vaz. The festival had been in the planning stages for some time, with leads for such events developing after the success of the Gentlemen of the Road Stopover Tour in town last year.<\/p>\n

The 1975 scored its first number album on the Billboard 200 chart, as its second full-length effort, I Like It When You Sleep, For You Are So Beautiful Yet So Unaware Of It, debuts atop the list. The set earned 108,000 equivalent album units in the week ending March 3, according to Nielsen Music. It sold 98,000 in pure album sales.<\/span><\/p>\n

Last year, the festival was held at the Stone Pony in Asbury Park, where Bleachers, Charli XCX, The Front Bottoms, Misterwives, Cults, Bully, How to Dress Well and Sam Dew performed.<\/p>\n

Tickets for the festival are set to go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. in three categories: early bird general admission, beach general admission and premium VIP seats.<\/p>\n
