Mincey (Photo: Ocean County Jail)<\/p><\/div>\n<p>A Seaside Heights man has been sentenced to 364 days in the Ocean County Jail for failing to comply with the conditions of Meghan\u2019s Law as well as drug possession, authorities said.<\/p>\n<p>Melton L. Mincey, 55, pleaded guilty Jan. 19 to charges of\u00a0third degreefailing to register pursuant to Megan\u2019s Law and possession of a controlled dangerous substance, cocaine.\u00a0 In addition to the term of incarceration, part of the\u00a0sentence handed down this week by Superior Court Judge\u00a0Melanie D. Appleby\u00a0is to continue his obligations to register once released and following all guidelines of probation imposed on him.<\/p>\n<p>Prosecutors had sought a three year sentence, said Al Della Fave, spokesman for the prosecutor\u2019s office.<\/p>\n<p>The charges against Mincey date back to the summer.Seaside Heights Police\u00a0Detective Lawrence Mayberry initiated the\u00a0Meghan\u2019s Law complaint July 29.\u00a0 The crime date for the possession of a controlled dangerous substance (cocaine) occurred on or about August 10, 2015 in the Borough of Seaside Heights.
