In a unanimous vote, the board recommended the designation to the borough council, which is expected to pass an ordinance codifying as much in the near future.<\/p>\n<p>Shorebeat has reported on both of the properties over the last two weeks. The <a href=\"https:\/\/shorebeat.com\/lavallette-seaside\/2023\/02\/seaside-heights-to-seek-redeveloper-for-odd-house-motel-property\/\">&#8216;house-motel&#8217; property<\/a> was acquired by the borough in October 2022 for $1.1 million, funded through a one-time state grant to assist the town in its redevelopment efforts. Hidden behind a small multi-family home with two units is a three-story motel which contains six units that were ultimately turned into long-term rentals. The site, officials have said, was often troubled with frequent calls to law enforcement. While the planning board resolution noted that the property could be subject to condemnation, it has changed hands since the redevelopment process began, and is likely to be redeveloped by its new owner.
