(Credit: NWS)<\/p><\/div>\n<p>The National Weather Service has issued its first freeze warning and frost advisory for the Shore area as cold temperatures move into the region.<\/p>\n<p>Wednesday&#8217;s high temperature was forecast to reach just 49 degrees with rain in the morning to midday period. At night, the temperature is expected to drop to 29 degrees before rising to a high of 50 degrees during the day Thursday. For mainland communities, a freeze advisory has been issued for the period between midnight Wednesday to 10 a.m. Thursday. A frost advisory was posted for the barrier island for the same time period.<\/p>\n<p>According to a statement from the National Weather Service, the frost advisory calls for &#8220;frost formation&#8221; in the immediate coastal area, which could kill sensitive outdoor vegetation if left uncovered. On the island, temperatures may hover around 35 degrees due to the warmth of the Atlantic Ocean.<\/p>\n<p>On the mainland, the freeze warning calls for a chance of temperatures dropping as low as 26 degrees at night.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Frost and freeze conditions will kill crops and other sensitive vegetation,&#8221; the warning said. &#8220;Take steps now to protect tender plants from the cold.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><div class=\"ose-x ose-uid-32d829d497cb5d9b59067ac4d526f18d ose-embedpress-responsive\" style=\"width:600px; height:550px; max-height:550px; max-width:100%; display:inline-block;\" data-embed-type=\"Twitter\"><div class=\"embed-x\"><blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"600\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">\ud83e\udde5\ud83e\udd76 The calendar now says November, but it&#39;s going to feel like December! Small Craft Advisories are in effect for all waters, and seas are forecast to build to 3-5 feet Wednesday.
