Seaside Park police said a firework was likely to have been the cause of a brush fire that broke out on the bayfront Nov. 23.<\/p>\n

Police and the Seaside Park Volunteer Fire Company were called to the area of Island Avenue and Bayview for a report of a brush fire on the bayfront, police said. When officers arrived, they observed smoke and flames from the tall grass along the bayfront.<\/p>\n

The fire covered approximately 20-feet and was extinguished without incident by the fire department.<\/p>\n

A “spent firework” was located and was deemed the cause of the fire, police said.<\/p>\n
