With the start of the new year comes the first trickle of applications for development in Seaside Heights as the town’s building boom continues.<\/p>\n

At a workshop meeting of the borough’s planning board this week, two additional subdivisions were proposed, each of which will eventually be developed with two new, single-family homes. Both subdivisions consist of 40-by-100 foot lots that will be converted into the standard 20-by-100 size allowed in Seaside Heights’ residential zone in order to create space for the four new structures.<\/p>\n

The first subdivision is proposed for 244 Fremont Avenue, said attorney Matthew Heagen, who represents the property owner.<\/p>\n

“The plan is to subdivide it into 20-by-100 parcels that comply with all of the ordinances with regard to setbacks, height, etcetera,” Heagen said. “No variances are being sought at this time.”<\/p>\n

Similarly, the second subdivision \u2013 being proposed at 29 Hamilton Avenue, next to a privately-owned parking facility \u2013 is expected to comply with borough codes.<\/p>\n

“My clients are going to propose demolishing the existing single-family home and constructing two single-family homes on fully-conforming lots,” said Dante Alfieri, the attorney representing that property owner.<\/p>\n

The formal hearings on the subdivisions are expected to be heard at the board’s Jan. 29 regular meeting.<\/p>\n
