Several Jersey Shore towns are known for being home to some of the most interesting coastal architecture in the United States, mixing New England-style beach homes with designs popularized in the Outer Banks of North Carolina and even Spanish colonial features found in Florida and California.<\/p>\n

Long Beach Island, in the southern part of Ocean County, was once described by Philadelphia Magazine as an “architect’s playground.” Could Seaside Heights be the next Shore town to fit that description?<\/p>\n

With redevelopment efforts in Seaside Heights moving along at a rapid pace, a group of new homes being built on the northernmost street in town are particularly unique in their design, featuring coastal colors, large outdoor spaces, and expansive living space built within the borough’s standard 20-by-100 square foot lots.<\/p>\n

Last month, Shorebeat reported on a three-home subdivision approved for construction on Hiering Avenue. New renderings of the property provided this week by Mike Loundy, the property’s broker, show the detail to which the three homes are being constructed, and the unique layout of each.<\/p>\n

Overlooking Ortley Beach to the north, the three homes were designed to fit within the 121-by-100 square foot lot that existed on the property, providing more room than most properties of its kind.<\/p>\n

“This is not your standard new construction,” said Loundy, explaining that each home features an elevator, upgraded lighting package, frameless shower doors and a wet bar \u2013 all integrated into the homes and included in the purchase price.<\/p>\n

Outdoor space, a precious commodity in coastal communities, is accommodated by three outdoor decks on each home, including a rooftop area for recreation and relaxing with ocean views. While popular within commercial properties and large condominium developments, rooftop decks are a relatively new feature of single-family homes, with the Hiering Avenue properties being fronted with tinted glass and aesthetically-pleasing rails.<\/p>\n

“This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to own the beach house of your dreams on one of the nicest ocean blocks on a lot with endless possibilities at an unbelievable price,” Loundy said.<\/p>\n

The developer, ABR Seaside Heights LLC, is marketing the homes for $1,299,900, according to a real estate listing.<\/p>\n
