His sentence was handed down Friday by Superior Court Judge\u00a0Melanie Donohue Appleby.<\/p>\n<p>The charged stemmed from the Oct.\u00a016, 2014,\u00a0death of William Akers, Jr. due to a heroin overdose.<\/p>\n<p>In the following months, Seaside Heights police, the prosecutor\u2019s office, the county sheriff\u2019s department as well as\u00a0Lakewood and Toms River police, would develop information identifying Brinson as a suspect. Confirmation by the Ocean County Medical Examiner\u2019s Office that Akers\u2019 death was ruled drug induced would provide the final necessary piece to charge Brinson\u00a0in his death.<\/p>\n<p>On March 6, 2015, the United States Marshals Service located Brinson in Asbury Park, where he was taken into custody.
