(Credit: Planning Document)<\/p><\/div>\n<p>With a planning board application so delicious, how could the result be anything but approval?<\/p>\n<p>The Lavallette planning board has granted its seal of approval to the new digs envisioned for Colonial Bakery, the near-legendary bake shop that closed its doors after Labor Day when its lease was not renewed in its previous location. The board voted in favor of granting approval for the shop to reopen at <span class=\"x193iq5w xeuugli x13faqbe x1vvkbs xlh3980 xvmahel x1n0sxbx x1lliihq x1s928wv xhkezso x1gmr53x x1cpjm7i x1fgarty x1943h6x xudqn12 x3x7a5m x6prxxf xvq8zen xo1l8bm xzsf02u x1yc453h\" dir=\"auto\">1903 Grand Central Avenue, midway between Jersey City and New Jersey avenues along Route 35 North.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>A rendering of the prospective design of the shop was provided by Tokarski Millemann Architects, of Wall Township, which designed what will be a new building for the Colonial Bakery and a three-bedroom apartment. The current structure on the site, an older residential home, will be demolished. Colonial has said its new store is expected to be ready by May 2025, in time for the busy summer season.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re designing a space that\u2019s not just about delicious pastries, but also community and comfort, featuring a three-bedroom apartment with dedicated parking,\u201d the architectural firm said in a statement. \u201cAs we facilitate Colonial Bakery\u2019s ambition to re-open this year, we will ensure that every architectural detail reflects the brand\u2019s heritage, commitment to craftsmanship, and the warm, communal spirit central to their ethos, all while infusing the \u201cEveryday Exceptional\u201d into the very fabric of the design to enrich the everyday experience for all visitors.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Construction is expected to begin in the spring.<\/p>\n<p>Colonial Bakery was previously located<span class=\"LrzXr\"> just across the street from the new shop.
