Seaside Park police have released their weekly blotter, featuring a sampling of calls to which the department responded over that time period. In total, the department handled 78 calls for service.<\/p>\n

The blotter appears below:<\/strong><\/p>\n

3\/15<\/strong><\/p>\n

Alarm –<\/strong> Police were dispatched to the area of 2nd and Central for a burglar alarm activation. Officers arrived and checked the building. No signs of forced entry were observed. Audible alarm was sounding upon arrival. The building was found to be secure, and it was determined that the alarm was set off in error.<\/p>\n

Community Policing –<\/strong> A male came into police headquarters looking for assistance with directions to their destination. Officers arrived and spoke to the male and were able to provide him with help to get to where he was going.<\/p>\n

3\/16\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Open Door –<\/strong> While on patrol in the area of L Street and Ocean Avenue, officers observed and open door to a business that is currently closed for the season. Officers investigated the situation, and nothing appeared to be missing or damaged. It was determined the door had opened from the high winds. Police were able to secure the door.<\/p>\n

3\/18<\/strong><\/p>\n

Verbal Argument –<\/strong> Police were dispatched to the area of Decatur and Ocean avenues for a report of two males arguing. Officers arrived and spoke to the individuals separately. The caller was a tenant, and the other party was a contractor sent by the homeowner. The tenant was upset regarding the arrangements made by the homeowner and was arguing with the contractor about it. Police were able to mediate the situation, and the individuals went their separate ways.<\/p>\n

First Aid –<\/strong> Police and Tri-Boro First Aid responded to help a victim experiencing abdominal pain. Officers and EMS arrived and assessed the patient at the scene. They were later transported to Community Medical Center for treatment.<\/p>\n

3\/20<\/strong><\/p>\n

Fire Alarm –<\/strong> Police and the Seaside Park Volunteer Fire Company responded to the area of I Street and Central Avenue for a fire alarm activation. Officers arrived and checked the building; no smoke or active fire was observed. The fire department arrived and checked the building with their heat sensing equipment. The fire department deemed the building to be safe and that the alarm was set off by a malfunctioning detector.<\/p>\n
